Every failed diet produces the same resolution: next time, no exceptions. No bread, no dessert, no snacks, no missed days. The ruler comes out, the rules multiply — and the fire gets bigger. There is a mechanical reason for that. The Restrict–Overeat Cycle, Explained

Flexible Versus Rigid Control
The research distinguishes two ways of controlling intake, and they predict opposite things. Rigid control treats eating as a set of absolute rules — forbidden foods, fixed amounts, no exceptions.
