The supplement industry sells completeness: twenty bottles, one monthly subscription, a "stack" that implies research. The no-stack principle is the opposite move — a short list of nutrients with trial support, bought individually, taken for a reason. This page builds the comparison framework and applies it honestly.
What the evidence supports

Commercial bundles typically run three patterns: subtherapeutic doses (a fraction of the amount any trial actually used), overlap (a multivitamin plus a separate vitamin D plus a magnesium blend means double-dosing what the multi already contains), and proprietary blends that hide per-ingredient amounts behind a trade name, making the doses unverifiable by design. The honest test for any stack is simple: does a single ingredient in it have a trial behind it, at the dose in this bottle? If the answer is no for everything inside, the bundle is a shelf product, not a regimen.
The Three-Gate Test
Every supplement decision on this site passes through the same three gates, and the Big Five are the nutrients that survive them:

The Guardrails
- 🔎 Third-party tested or not at all — USP, NSF, or Informed Sport verification is the minimum for anything you swallow daily; independent audits keep finding label-to-content mismatches.
- 📏 Studied doses, no proprietary blends — if the label hides per-ingredient amounts, the dose is unverifiable by design, and unverifiable doses cannot be evidence-based.
