The Transition Protocol

Goal day is a gear shift, not an off-switch. Run the steps below one week at a time and let the weekly average — not the calculator — announce where your new maintenance sits. The table above is the map; this is the walk.

  1. Weeks 1–2 — add 100–150 kcal/day — mostly carbs, placed around training. The weekly average should hold within ±0.5 kg; if it does, you were still in a mild deficit.
  2. Weeks 3–4 — add another 100–150 — same placement. Hunger settles, training quality climbs, and the scale stays flat.
  3. Weeks 5–6 — the same step again — if the average climbs more than 0.5 kg at any point, hold the current intake for an extra week before stepping.
